Terms of service
Last updated May 2026
By using Azawa, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.
1. The service
Azawa provides tools to help self-employed people, freelancers and event professionals manage bookings, invoicing, expenses and HMRC Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance. We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
2. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
You must not share your account credentials or use Azawa for any unlawful purpose.
3. Your data and records
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter into Azawa, including invoices, expenses and tax records. Azawa provides tools to help you organise and submit records โ we do not verify their accuracy and we are not responsible for errors in your data.
You should always review records before relying on them or submitting them to HMRC or any other third party.
4. No professional advice
Azawa does not provide legal, tax or accounting advice. Nothing in the platform or its communications constitutes professional advice. For guidance on your specific tax situation, please consult a qualified accountant or tax adviser.
5. AI and automated features
Some features, including receipt scanning, use AI and machine learning to assist with data entry. These features are designed to reduce admin, not to replace your judgement. Outputs should always be reviewed before being relied upon.
6. HMRC and MTD submissions
When you use Azawa to submit information to HMRC, you are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of that submission. Azawa transmits the data you provide โ we are not liable for penalties, interest or other consequences arising from incorrect or late submissions.
7. Payments and billing
Subscription fees are billed in advance. Refunds are not provided for partial periods unless required by law. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.
8. Acceptable use
You must not use Azawa to submit false or fraudulent information to HMRC or any other party, to infringe the rights of others, or to engage in any activity that violates applicable law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Azawa is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding any claim.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. On termination, the provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive will continue to apply.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of Azawa after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify you of significant changes where reasonably practicable.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
